Today we hopped in the car and
drove to Idaho. We stopped just short of
our campsite at Mesa Falls. Katie liked
hiking around it, but we feared Elle might not make it back with us over the
waterfall.
The directions were a little
sketchy to our campsite but we finally made it.
There was no ranger station or anything to get into it, just a
host. We were one of two groups at the
whole site. A little creepy, but it was
really quite. We actually moved sites to
be closer to the bathrooms. There was no
running water at the site so we made hobo dinner wrapped in tin foil to
eliminate dishes and some grilled corn.
Yum! We didn’t have bear lockers
either so we kept everything in our car except Katie’s suitcase. There was a beautiful lake nearby that we
walked down to a lot. Katie liked
throwing sticks into the water. She
seemed entirely comfortable to just hike off into the woods on the trails by
our campsite all by herself. I had to
pee 4 times during the night and was freezing every time.
